Ideas at Work: "America in One Room" and the Future of Democracy

Kick off 2020 with a different kind of conversation. Join the Center for the Study of Liberty as we welcome Professors James Fishkin and Larry Diamond of Stanford University for an exclusive Ideas at Work event! We’ll discuss their ground-breaking “America in One Room” experiment, which drew the interest of media outlets like The New York Times, The American Interest, and Vanity Fair. In the fall of 2019, these two researchers brought together a representative sampling of 500 voters from across the country to deliberate on some of the most challenging issues facing our country today: immigration, healthcare, the environment, the economy, and foreign policy. Could this experiment in democracy offer a new vision of “government by the people” at the local, state, and even national level?

Tune in for this LIVE online conversation with Drs. Fishkin and Diamond about their findings and what their experiment tells us about the future of democracy in America. The event is free, but advanced registration is required. Register here today.
