Faith Communities
Host Conversations

Practicing what they preach, faith communities love one another and their neighbors by listening first to understand in conversations that bridge divides.

Faith communities are natural leaders of a movement to mend the frayed fabric of America by restoring humanity and relationships damaged by discord. Faith values of love, grace, dignity, and forgiveness are the perfect antidote to our rising rancor and deepening division. What better way to love your neighbor than through intentional conversation? Explore ideas for faith communities below then get involved in National Conversation Project by hosting conversations at your place of worship or by virtually connecting with other congregations across the country!

Ideas for Faith Communities

Make the most of your conversations by exploring our guides, tips, insights, wisdom, assessments, and training in Conversation Resources. Additional ideas for faith communities are outlined below. Don't forget to add your conversation!

  • Host a Fellowship Event: Invite members and the broader community to gather for conversations that foster increased understanding, deeper relationships, and shared vision.

  • Integrate Fresh Conversation in Group Meetings: Most congregations have groups that meet regularly for fellowship, study, governance or service. Commit one meeting time to an uncommon conversation that will deepen relationships.

  • Drive post-conversation action: Many people will emerge from conversations across the country excited to translate the spirit of National Conversation Project into action. Provide opportunities for them to do so in service to your community. Contact Pearce to invite NCP participants to join your post-conversation actions.

  • Self-guided Conversations: Provide space and faith oriented conversation guides for your congregation and community to engage in rich yet casual conversations. Contact our Faith Communities Specialist Reverend Linda Taylor for guidance.

  • Facilitated Conversations: Want to bring a professional facilitator to your community? Partner with one of 700+ facilitators in the NCDD network.

  • Virtual Conversations: Bridge geographic divides by connecting your members with those of other faith communities across the nation. Coordinate with Julie then point members to where they can sign up for a virtual conversation.
