Should We Tax the Rich to Address Income Equality?
A Better Angels Debate is a highly structured conversation in which a group of people speak, listen and think together to grapple with a difficult topic. Everyone is encouraged to express their views. These are not like traditional debates where people compete to win.
Goals:
- To engage in a process that gets us all a little closer to the truth.
- To become more aware of the validity of differing views.
- To build tighter community relationships.
The Process: We’ll use modified parliamentary procedures to create an atmosphere of decorum and respect. We ask and expect participants to behave respectfully toward one another.

Resolved: The rich should be taxed to address income equality.
